Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an intensive behavioural program that aims to teach children with Autism in a supported and structured manner. ABA is an evidence based therapy that has been very effective in teaching children with Autism new skills and reducing negative behaviours. An individualised educational program is developed based on an assessment of your child, and regular meetings every 2-4 weeks are scheduled to review goals and progress. ABA therapy is delivered by parents or ABA therapists.
The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is an evidence based and structured play based therapy for children with Autism 5 years and under. It is delivered by a certified ESDM practitioner. After an initial assessment and goals are set, the practitioner works directly with your child through play to achieve the set goals. Goals are formally reviewed every 3 months.
